Welcome to Childcare Network Asheville Sardis Road, where we pride ourselves on being a high-quality early learning center. My name is Alica Thomseen, and I am the school Director. At our school, we strive to ensure that parents feel safe and secure leaving their children with us and that those children leave every day smiling. We know that early education is integral in establishing a solid foundation for their child's educational journey. Our goal for students is to foster an environment where each child can challenge themselves and achieve success. As many of our staff are parents themselves, we understand how rewarding and demanding a parent's role can sometimes be, especially as a working parent. We are committed to providing a supportive community for the families we serve. We all want our students to be happy, nurtured, and provided with the best learning opportunities. Our staff members provide a safe environment and nurture your child on their learning journey while giving them the freedom to explore and develop in a warm and caring environment. Our HighReach Learning Curriculum incorporates a variety of activities designed to support children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development. From creative arts and crafts to outdoor play, music, and early literacy programs, each day is filled with engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage hands-on learning through play.

6/4/2025My family and I have been looking all over Asheville and Candler for a reliable and safe place for our 2 yr old to attend. With current events of COVID and the devastation of Helene, childcare has been hard to find and waiting lists are ginormous! With all of that being said, we have been on a waiting list with Childcare Network for a while now and we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Danielle Barnett at the location on Sardis Rd. She’s the type of person you want your child to be taken care of by! She’s sweet with the kids, knowledgeable of her work and others that work for her and the type of leader that a childcare needs. She also has a family of her own and knows the ups and downs that come along with different behaviors with different children. I know our child will grow exponentially with the care and guidance shown by Danielle Barnett and the others at Childcare Network!

One day recently he wasn't feeling well and Danielle kept me updated throughout the day. She never put pressure on me to pick him up immediately but she made sure I knew what was going on with him and when I took him to the doctor, we found out that Danielle was exactly right about what she thought it was. She and the rest of the staff are dedicated to the children who attend and I'm so grateful to her for reaching out to me and keeping me informed. We have been very happy with Childcare Network.

2/8/2025The directer, Ms. Erin, really came through after the hurricane. Everything from hot meals, free bottled water, diapers, formula. She was at the center every day helping the community. She worked incredibly hard to get the center up and running while Asheville didn't have water. She works tirelessly to provide the best for the kids. My daughter absolutely loves her teacher, Ms. Emma. So much that she likes to play "school" at home and be Ms. Emma. My daughter is also learning Spanish and quite proud herself. All the teachers and staff are phenomenal. It brings this mama peace of mind knowing my child is loved and well taken care of.

5/9/2024We've had our child at this location for over 2 years now and while things haven't been perfect, we're very appreciative and thankful for the support and care the staff have given us and our child. For prospective parents: + Communication from the teachers and management to the parents is clear and consistent. + The teachers and staff try their hardest to teach and provide the best care and experience they can. + Other parents have been nothing but kind and helpful. + The facility has more than we would expect from a preschool and then teachers are always surprising with fun new activities. - Our primary issue is that too often the classrooms are over filled and you can sense that the teachers (and all the staff for that matter) are overworked some days. The staff tried their best to communicate and anticipate days they might not have enough space for every child and they do a real good shuffling kids to make sure there's a better distribution. Overall we've loved how much our child has grown here and we really appreciate her teacher of over a year, Miss Lauren!

2/8/2017A few months ago my son was in rolled at the Biltmore Academy on Hendersonville Rd until they labeled him a "bad kid" he was completely removed from the program after being suspended 4 different times and sent home early almost every other day! I brought him to childcare network and not once did I hear a bad thing about him! He loves this place so much! His teachers are amazing and he's always happy to be there! The staff is great all around and make him feel welcomed!! They do so many fun activities! He learns something new everyday and looks forward to telling me when I pick him up! I don't know why I didn't put him here in the first place!!

4/7/2015I have two children who have gone to Childcare Network #179 for two almost three years now. The staff is wonderful, the programs and activities they do are well structured and interactive. They keep my kids learning and intrigued! I am so thankful I found this facility when I did and to have both kids go there, and have my daughter transition up from the two's to the three's and into the fours! It is almost time to prep for Kindergarten, but I will have her attend after school here as well. I HIGHLY recommend this facility to any parent looking for a safe, fun, clean, place to send their children. Emilie and Nikki, and Kaitlyn do such a wonderful job!

2/1/2014We have 2 children and have been with Childcare Network on Sardis Rd for 5 years. We love the curriculum and staff. Friends who've had their children start school say that their child was well prepared, ahead of most of her classmates, for school in academics and behavior expectations. Over the past 5 years we've had many teachers and each year we have at least one teacher that is outstanding. Our youngest has special needs, Trisomy 21, and the whole organization has been proactive in supporting her in order to keep her with her classmates. I can't say enough about the staff and especially the current director.

1/31/2014My son, now 2, has loved Childcare Network on Sardis Rd., and therefore, so do I! The director and teachers are very responsive when we have any questions and I love getting a "report card" every day that says how he was during the day. My son is so happy when I peek in on him and I know they're helping him with his numbers and alphabet, too now. I highly recommend this daycare over the others in Asheville after talking with other moms and researching the others in our area.

1/31/2014My son started at Childcare Network over two years ago, and is now in his third classroom (Toddlers, Two's, Three's). We could not be happier with the care he gets there. Emilie and Stephanie are amazing administrators who are also great with the kids (and the parents). And, I have nothing but good things to say about the teachers that he has had. Never have I seen any of them act like it's just a "job." They are very caring and provide great activities for the kids. My son absolutely loves going "to school." And, as a working Mom - it is just a little bit easier to leave him every morning knowing that he is so happy and will be so well looked after. If you are looking for a day care, I highly recommend Childcare Network on Sardis Road.

As a first-time mother, the staff was more than accommodating of my phone calls to see how he was doing. When I pick him up each day, he always seems so content and genuinely happy in his environment. As hard as it is to leave him every day, I know they are taking amazing care of him! 1/31/2014I have 2 children that go here and they love it! My son loves his teachers in the Pre-K/ 4 year old room and is learning so much! He attends a computer pal program that they offer and loves to learn. My daughter attends the after school program, they do so many different arts and crafts and role playing and they help her with her homework! The teachers and directors are the best! They are great at letting me know if school is closing early or if my kids get sick. They are also open a lot of days that other daycares are closed and as a working mom that helps me not to miss work! I love to see my kids so happy to go to school!

1/31/2014I love this daycare!!!! The caretakers are super nice people who obviously care about my daughter, and she appears very fond of them too! My daughter comes home with tons of artwork and always seems to have learned something new. She is not even 2 and is very good at wiping up messes and washing her hands. :-) I have had her with them since she was around 4 or 5 months old and haven't regretted choosing them yet.
