About
Hello! My name is Kylah Laurent, and I am the Director at Childcare Network #313. I currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in Early Childhood Education. I have five children, three of whom attend the Childcare Network in the 4yo, 3yo, and 1yo classrooms. I love having my children at the Childcare Network with me because it allows me to continue to pour into them by replicating the environment that I would want them to have at home in the school. I have worked with children for over ten years as an afterschool teacher, a childcare classroom education specialist, a lesson plan coordinator, and I have held several administrative positions in the childcare setting. My love for children started in my early college years when I was pursuing a degree in developmental psychology. While interning as a school counselor, I quickly realized that it was more fulfilling to me to teach families the tools to thrive in order to prevent damage to the child rather than fixing the damage after it has already been done. This is why I chose to pursue early childhood education: because the best way to love a child is to give them a strong and supportive foundation, and the first few years of life are the most important in instilling that foundation. Whether that is by pouring into our caregivers or pouring into our families, I am committed to providing as much support as needed to foster that sense of wonder in our children. My goal for our school and our children is simple. I want to inspire a learning environment that is engaging, exciting, and empowering.
